I’m a regular bloke. I enjoy a beer, indulge in unhealthy foods occasionally, I love watching a whole load of sport and I play golf (badly!). I don’t want to give up any of these things, so I won’t ask you to give up what you enjoy either. My goal is to help you improve yourself. You'll still enjoy your passions but will discover what truly makes you tick by trying a few new things.

The Change You Programme

 

IT’S TIME TO FIGURE OUT WHO YOU ARE

 

Here’s the 5-step process that I use with clients to help them find out WHO they are and what they REALLY want from LIFE.

 

STRAIGHT TALK

 

Self-awareness is in short supply these days; unfortunately, self-delusion is not. There’s really no way to change your life if you don’t change yourself first.

 

Step 1 – Distractions

 

Life presents challenges. It’s all about how we respond to those challenges. Unfortunately, we tend to respond by distracting ourselves. We buy things we don’t need or that don’t make us happy, scroll on our phones, watch TV, reminisce about the good-old-times, eat junk food, and make plans we don’t keep—we waste time. We eat and drink ourselves into numbness to dull the reality of our problems. We use movies, games, and music to carry us away, making everything feel right, easy, and good.

There’s nothing wrong with distractions; we all need some to keep us sane and happy. The key is being aware of these distractions, ensuring we’re choosing them, not them choosing us. This is the first level of self-awareness—a simple understanding of where your mind goes and when. You must be aware of the paths your mind likes to take before you can begin to question why it takes those paths and whether those paths are helping or hurting you.

 

Step 2 – Finding Purpose

 

Feeling dismissive? Uncomfortable? Unenthusiastic about everything? Disparaging of the process? If any of those feelings resonate with you, read on.

 

What are you feeling right now? This is where you really find out about yourself. You need to discover and truly understand how you feel about what is going on in your life right now and stop hiding those feelings. It’s time for some confrontation.

 

Self-discovery, introspection, and self-realisation are uncomfortable. Men often ignore this, preferring to mask it with distractions. It can take a lot of work, but if you’re prepared to feel those feelings and work through them, purpose WILL be found, and life can be lived. The more you become aware of your own emotions, the more you discover how much time you’ve been wasting. Those emotions, be they gut feelings or a niggle in your mind, need to be felt.

 

Success is often measured financially, but at what cost? “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.” – Maya Angelou. It’s not too late to make a change.

 

Step 3 – Who are you?

 

Everyone is different, so this process will be unique to you. We will look at the different areas of your life and ensure they’re serving you. It’s all about Health & Happiness.

 

Eating The Frog – not literally: We’re going to tackle the trickier stuff first. “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.” - Mark Twain. Prioritise your health, both physical and mental. It’s about ensuring we fuel our bodies correctly, move enough, and stay well. We may get some other experts involved, but we will find the solution, meet your needs, and have you feeling good in a short time.

 

Relationships: The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. We’ll ask and answer some tough questions during these sessions. I’ll be your Coach, Confidant, Counsellor, Companion, and Champion throughout. Getting to know yourself is vital. What REALLY drives you? What lights the fire inside of you? What kind of legacy do you REALLY want to create?

 

Step 4 - Where’s your head at?

 

Feeling comfortable with yourself is the most liberating feeling. Knowing who you are and what you really want to do is life changing. We rarely give ourselves time to look inside, being too busy living up to others' expectations. The only expectations you should put on yourself are for a happy and healthy life; ignore what everyone else thinks.

 

During this step…

 

  • We might Journal.

  • We might Meditate.

  • We might Walk.

  • We might Swim.

  • We might Read.

  • We might Eat.

 

What we WILL do is find out what makes you happy. This part of the process will be a discovery. You may be surprised at what you find out about yourself. I have been through this process and continue to ‘do the work’. I am the happiest I’ve ever been and never felt the level of fulfillment this has given me. I truly want to share that with the world. This will be life-changing, but it doesn’t have to change your life completely. You’ll discover a zest for life with the people already in your life. It will benefit them too because you’ll be happier.

 

Step 5 – Fulfilment, Purpose, and Motivation

 

The last step is one you probably don’t need me for, but it’s the one I’m most excited about! This is when YOU realize that your thoughts and actions reflect whatever you’re feeling at that moment. Are you reacting to your emotions or acting based on your conscious thoughts?

 

If you can recognise this, then you’re good to go. You know who you are and what you should be doing to change for the better. You are on the path to better Fulfilment with a greater Purpose and the Motivation to CHANGE YOU!
